Is your practice ready to renew for 2026?

VDS renewals for 2026 will open on Monday 3 November 2025! Whether you’re a practice renewing your Professional Indemnity Insurance or an RVN renewing your cover for Representation Costs in Criminal and Disciplinary Proceedings, you will be able to apply to renew online or on paper.

Last year a massive 96% of renewing members applied to renew online. In our effort to reduce paper usage, we urge even more members to go online this year – it’s quicker and simpler too!

If your Practice was insured with the VDS on 1 November 2025 and your renewal is completed online by 31 December 2025, you may be eligible for a loyalty discount. This will be shown on your invoice.

In the meantime, to help get you started, here are three simple steps we’d encourage Super Users to take as soon as possible to make sure your Practice is renewal-ready:

❶ Check your details

Check that your own details and, if applicable, your personnel details are up to date, including vet and RVN names, declared working time, species-specific risk groups, and start and finish dates. Be sure to include personnel you know are leaving or joining in the remainder of 2025.

❷ Will a Super User be available?

Make sure that you or your practice Super User will be available during November or December to complete your renewal application for 2026. If your Super User has left or is off work, please contact our Membership team on +44 (0)1565 652737 as soon as possible so we can set up a new one.

Renew early, pay later

Don’t forget, you can avoid the rush and get your renewal application done early, and you won’t have to arrange payment for the renewal premium until Wednesday 31 December 2025 at the latest.
